A minor earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 occurs off the coast close to Manhattan Beach.

 


California's Manhattan Beach (CNS) -- Parts of Los Angeles were shaken by a minor earthquake today with a preliminary magnitude of 3.4, but no damage or injuries were reported right away.


The U.S. Geological Survey reports that the earthquake occurred at 12:15 p.m., approximately nine miles offshore of Manhattan Beach.


From the South Bay to West Los Angeles, the entire L.A. basin felt the seven-mile-deep temblor.


A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Fire Department said there were no reports of damage or calls for assistance.
