Live updates for England vs. Senegal: Sarr cancels out Kane's opening as Walker struggles in

Watch live from the City Ground as England and Thomas Tuchel continue their World Cup 2026 preparations today.

Senegal 1-1 England — Most recent

In today's evenly matched friendly at the City Ground, a lively Senegal has held England back.

After Anthony Gordon's shot was parried, captain Harry Kane gave his team the lead early on by tapping in for his fourth goal under Thomas Tuchel and his 73rd goal overall.

However, Ismaila Sarr beat Kyle Walker to convert Nicolas Jackson's cross just before halftime, giving Senegal a well-earned equalizer.

In a unique chance to shine in a key No. 10 position, Eberechi Eze has not had as much of the ball as he would have liked.

Is it up to England to give him more possession, or does Eze need to assume more dangerous positions in order to get it? a little bit of each. To be fair, he has simply failed to be discovered despite making multiple promising runs.

It is obvious that if he stays as quiet, he might not make it through the entire ninety minutes with attacking midfielders like Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer, and Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White on the bench.
