*"Stranger Things" Star Sadie Sink to Join Tom Holland in Upcoming "Spider-Man" Fil

The Stranger Things star has joined the cast of Spider-Man 4, where she will appear alongside Tom Holland as the iconic web-slinger. While her character remains undisclosed, Deadline—the first to break the news—suggests that her role will be "significant."

With production slated to begin later this year on the next installment of the Spider-Man franchise, series star Tom Holland has found a new co-star—one who is no stranger to major franchises. Sources tell Deadline that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is set to join the highly anticipated Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios sequel. Holland is already confirmed to reprise his role as Peter Parker.

Marvel and Sony declined to comment.

The film is being directed by Destin Daniel Craton, with Amy Pascal and Marvel president Kevin Feigen producing. While Sink’s role remains under wraps, speculation is swirling that she could debut as X-Men’s Jean Grey—or perhaps another iconic red-haired character from Spider-Man’s universe. What is certain, however, is that her role will be significant, especially given how Spider-Man: No Way Home ended—with Peter Parker choosing to complete Doctor Strang's spell, erasing his identity from the world.

If the story continues along that trajectory, Holland’s former co-stars will likely have smaller roles, making way for new characters—with Sink being the first major addition to the ensemble.

Holland is currently filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, with plans to begin shooting Spider-Man 4 once he wraps production on Nolan’s film.

For Sink, this role comes just as she bids farewell to the character that helped launch her career, as the final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things recently completed production. The highly anticipated season is set to premiere later this year.

Up next, Sink stars in Searchlight’s musical O’Dessa, which recently debuted at SXSW to strong reviews for her performance. The film is set to premiere on Hulu next week. Before stepping into the Spider-Man universe, she will also take the stage in the Broadway play John Proctor Is the Villain, opening on April 4.

She is represented by WME, Mara Entertainment, and Peikoff Mahan.

Sadie Sink is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe! The “Stranger Things” star has been cast in Spider-Man 4, where she'll appear alongside Tom Holland as the iconic, web-slinging teen hero.

While details about her role remain under wraps, Deadline, the first to report the casting, teased that Sink’s character will be “significant” in the upcoming film. There’s even speculation that she could be taking on the role of Jean Grey, the mutant from the X-Men universe, a part previously portrayed by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner.

Neither Marvel Studios nor Sony Pictures, the studios behind the Spider-Man films within Disney’s MCU, have commented on the casting yet.
