Confirmed Lineups: LOSC Lille vs. Borussia Dortmund
Official team news has just been released for Die Schwarzgelben who face LOSC Lille in the UEFA Champions League's last-16 second-leg.
With just an hour remaining until kick-off, Borussia Dortmund's head coach Niko Kovač has revealed his starting XI for tonight's crucial match against LOSC Lille. The French side will be feeling confident about their chances of advancing to the quarter-finals on home turf, having secured a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Westfalenstadion last Tuesday.
On the other hand, Dortmund are determined to secure a spot in the last eight of Europe's premier competition for a second consecutive season with a win tonight. While Kovač's men put in a strong first-half performance in the first leg, a lackluster second-half allowed Lille to equalize, leaving the tie still wide open.
Dortmund make three changes to the lineup that suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Augsburg at home last Saturday. Gregor Kobel retains his place in goal, while Waldemar Anton replaces Yan Couto in defense, joining captain Emre Can and Nico Schlotterbeck, with Julian Ryerson getting the nod over Rami Bensebaini.
With Felix Nmecha (knee) still sidelined, the midfield consists of Pascal Groß and Marcel Sabitzer in the double-six role. On the wings, Karim Adeyemi and Maximilian Beier come in as the third change, while Julian Brandt takes up the central attacking position behind Serhou Guirassy, who will be eager to add to his ten-goal tally this season.
Lille, in their familiar 4-3-3 formation, line up with Benjamin André as captain. Former Dortmund full-back Thomas Meunier starts at right-back, and Jonathan David will spearhead the attack, looking to cause trouble as he did in the first leg. Remy Cabella also starts, with no place for Ethan Mbappé.
Official line-ups:
LOSC Lille (4-3-3): Chevalier - Meunier, Diakité, Alexsandro, Ismaily - Mukau, André (c), Bouaddi - Haraldsson, David, Cabella
Borussia Dortmund (4-2-3-1): Kobel - Anton, Can (c), Schlotterbeck, Ryerson - Groß, Sabitzer - Adeyemi, Brandt, Beier - Guirassy
