Trump refers to Khamenei as a "easy target" and demands a "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER" from Iran.
Israel and Iran continued their aerial attacks into Tuesday, the fifth day of bombings since Israel's attack on Friday. According to Israeli sources, that surprise operation struck at the core of Iran's nuclear program, killing several nuclear experts and senior military officers.
According to a U.S. official who spoke to ABC News, the United States had no role in Israel's Friday operation and did not offer any military support. Speaking to ABC News on Sunday, President Donald Trump said, "It is possible we might become involved."
To assist Americans in the Middle East, the State Department has established a task team.
A Middle East task team has been established by the U.S. State Department to assist Americans living in the region who are in dangerous security conditions.
"The Middle East task force was formed by the Department of State to assist in coordinating assistance for American citizens, our diplomatic posts, and our diplomatic engagement and staff. State government spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated Tuesday that the task force is working around the clock and added that the government has recently sent out over 30 security advisories for Americans in the Middle East.
She emphasized, "We remind U.S. citizens not to travel to Israel or Iraq, and not to travel to Iran in anyway."
Bruce then provided a phone number (+1 202-501-4444) for Americans overseas to contact the State Department for assistance, and he showed a webpage where visitors could find the nearest American embassy.
However, the U.S. embassy in Israel is "not in a position at this moment to evacuate or actively assist Americans in fleeing Israel," according to the most recent security notice from the U.S. mission to Israel.
Bruce refused to provide a timeframe for when that would occur. She also did not disclose any plans for evacuations or assisted government departures, nor did she disclose the number of Americans who had already approached the embassy for assistance leaving Israel (a number previously disclosed by the department).
