Musk calls the Trump budget measure a "disgusting monster" and burns it.

"Elon Musk attacked President Donald Trump's large tax and spending cut package on Tuesday, calling it a "disgusting atrocity" that will cause government budget deficits to skyrocket.

Musk posted, "I am sorry, but I just can not handle it anymore," on his social networking platform X.

The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla said, "This enormous, absurd, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a filthy travesty."

"Those who voted for it should feel ashamed because they realize they made a mistake. You are aware of it.

Until his stint as a temporary "special federal employee" ended last week, Musk spearheaded the Trump administration's DOGE initiative to reduce government waste and expenditure.

The plan "would dramatically expand the existing large budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt," Musk warned in a follow-up post.
The criticism from Musk, a fervent Trump booster who contributed more than $250 million to Trump's 2024 campaign, was promptly dismissed by the White House.

When questioned about the tweet, press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded, "Look, the president already knows where Elon Musk stands on this measure."

"The President's viewpoint is unchanged. She said, "He is sticking to it, and this is one huge, gorgeous bill."

In response to Musk's remark, Kentucky Representative Thomas Massie, a fiscal hawk and one of just two Republicans to vote against the House version of Trump's plan, said, "He is right."

In response to Massie, Musk said, "Simple math."
Trump attacked Sen. Rand Paul earlier Tuesday when the Republican from Kentucky objected to the bill's clause raising the debt ceiling by trillions of dollars.

Paul was blamed by Trump of not seeing that the law would promote "tremendous GROWTH."
