Numerous sites reported that the authorities confirmed Joss's death on Sunday, June 1, following a claimed dispute with a neighbor in San Antonio, Texas. When police arrived at a shooting scene, they discovered Joss "by the roadside."

While waiting for EMS, "life saving procedures" were tried, but when paramedics came, Joss was declared dead at the site. After originally escaping the scene in a car, officers apprehended their suspect, Sigfredo Alvarez Cejam. According to TMZ, Cejam has been charged with murder, and the investigation is still underway.

Joss's most well-known role was as John Redcorn's voice in King of the Hill. After the original actor, Victor Arron, passed away in a vehicle accident in 1996, he took over in season two. Joss kept playing John until the end of the series in 2009. It was anticipated that he would return to the part in the recently revealed revival, which will debut on Hulu in August.
