NYT Connections hints for today: March 23, 2025, clues and solutions
One of the most played word games in the New York Times that has drawn interest from the general public is Connections. The goal of the game is to identify "common threads between words." We have provided some pointers and strategies to help you overcome the challenge because, similar to Wordle, Connections resets after midnight and each new set of words becomes increasingly difficult.

Connections: What Is It?
The newest daily word game from the NYT has gone viral on social media. Wyna Liu, an associate puzzle editor, is credited by the Times with helping to develop the new word game and introducing it to the Games section of the publication. Players of Connections must group four words that have a common element. Connections may be played on mobile devices and web browsers.
There are sixteen words in each puzzle, and each word group falls into one of four categories. These sets could include software, book titles, national names, and more. There is just one right solution, even if several words will appear to fit together.
The words in a set are taken off the board if a player correctly answers all four of them. Players can make up to four mistakes before the game is over, so if they guess incorrectly, it counts as a mistake.
Additionally, players can mix and rearrange the board to facilitate link detection. Each group is also color-coded, with yellow being the easiest to understand and being followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can post the outcomes on social media to share with your friends.
