According to Fox 35 Orlando, CBS News, and Fox Business, which quoted Walt Disney World officials, the fire began on Saturday, March 22, when a walk-in cooler "caught fire" backstage at the amusement park's France Pavilion in Orlando, Florida.
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure riders were evacuated from the vicinity of the fire. Officials assured the outlets that no injuries had been recorded and that the fire had been put out by 7:20 p.m. local time. at Spring Break and Epcot's International Flower & Garden Festival, which continues through June 2, the fire broke out at the theme park at a busy period. It is presently unknown what specifically caused the walk-in cooler fire.

Facebook footage from the situation showed people walking backstage in the vicinity of the France Pavilion while fire and towering black smoke plumes rose high above it.

According to Walt Disney World Magic, staff members assisted in the evacuation of all the restaurants, stores, and attractions in the impacted area.
According to Fox Business and WDWM, the French Pavilion was shuttered during the incident and reopened to visitors around 8:20 p.m. According to the outlets, the park then closed at 9:00 p.m., which is its regular closing hour.

On the incident's Walt Disney World's Tips and Tricks Facebook group page, one witness posted, "I think everyone is physically okay. We had just boarded the Pop Century skyliner to Epcot and witnessed it happen.
"I was afraid our cabin was going to fill with smoke at one point since the smoke was moving into the skyliner's route," they continued.
