In a crushing defeat to the Bucks, Bronny James co-leads the struggling Lakers with a career-high 17 points.

The Los Angeles Lakers looked to Bronny James and other players after losing their top four scorers to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. The squad did not have a great night, but James at least had a career night.

In a 118-89 loss to Milwaukee, the son of LeBron James scored 17 points—the first double-digit performance in his career—on 7-of-10 shooting, while also dishing out five assists, three rebounds, and four turnovers in 30 minutes. During his playing time, the Lakers were outscored by 36 points. With those 17 points, he tied Dalton Knecht, another rookie, for the team lead.

Although James relished his first 10-point performance, LeBron's NBA-record 1,280 consecutive double-digit games and counting mark the point at which he becomes the greatest of all time.

Throughout the season, Bronny James has alternated between the Lakers and the G League South Bay Lakers, taking advantage of a schedule that lets him join his father on the NBA squad and avoid the majority of G League away games. As a result, he has taken on the role of a team mascot, and supporters frequently chant for him during the closing minutes of certain games.

Fans post his turnovers as highlights because of how large his online following is.
James only get actual rotation minutes during games like Thursday's. The Lakers were seriously shorthanded going into the contest. Austin Reaves (ankle) and Luka Dončić (ankle) missed the game as well, but LeBron James (groin) and Rui Hachimura (ankle) have been sidelined for a number of games. This season, those four players have averaged 84.4 points per game.

Even though Damian Lillard was not playing for the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo was still playing. The Greek Freak finished with four assists, seven rebounds, and 28 points.
