Trump Celebrates Supreme Court Decision Restricting Judges from Halting Federal Policies Nationwide

By USA NEWS TODAY| June 27, 2025

Former President Donald Trump is hailing a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision as a "massive victory for justice and presidential power," after the high court ruled to restrict federal judges from issuing sweeping nationwide injunctions that block federal government actions.

The ruling, passed by a 6-3 vote along conservative lines, limits the ability of lower courts to stop federal policies from taking effect across the entire country — a legal tool that was frequently used to pause several of Trump’s most controversial executive actions during his presidency, including immigration bans and environmental rollbacks.

🧑‍⚖️ What the Ruling Means

The Supreme Court determined that district judges may no longer issue broad injunctions that apply beyond their jurisdiction unless absolutely necessary. The justices argued that such sweeping actions disrupt the balance of power and override the role of other courts in the judicial system.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the majority opinion:

“Nationwide injunctions undermine the integrity of our judicial system and encourage forum shopping. Courts should resolve disputes, not set national policy from the bench.”

🇺🇸 Trump’s Reaction

Donald Trump, who is currently leading the GOP race for the 2024 presidential election, praised the ruling on his Truth Social platform.

“This is a great day for our Constitution and for our future. Radical judges can no longer block the will of the American people with one ruling!” Trump posted. “This will help stop the madness that plagued our administration.”

Trump and his supporters have long criticized the use of nationwide injunctions, claiming liberal-leaning courts used them to stall or sabotage his agenda.

🔥 Divided Opinions

Progressive leaders and civil rights organizations quickly condemned the decision, warning that it weakens one of the few tools available to stop potentially harmful or unconstitutional federal policies before they cause widespread damage.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said in a statement:

“This ruling silences the ability of local communities to protect themselves against unconstitutional government overreach. It’s a win for unchecked power.”

Legal analysts note that this shift will make it harder for advocacy groups to block federal actions quickly, especially in cases involving immigration, healthcare, or climate regulations.

🔮 Looking Ahead

With this ruling in place, federal agencies under any future administration — including a possible second Trump term — could face fewer roadblocks in implementing controversial decisions. Plaintiffs seeking to challenge those policies may now have to pursue multiple lawsuits across various jurisdictions to achieve a nationwide pause.

While the decision strengthens executive efficiency, critics argue it also tilts the balance of power too far toward the presidency.
