Trump Calls Shooting Victims to Rant About Tim Walz
Trump Calls Shooting Victims, Launches Tirade Against Gov. Tim Walz
WASHINGTON — In a controversial phone call Monday, former President Donald Trump reportedly reached out to Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette Hoffman, both recovering in the hospital after surviving a politically motivated shooting over the weekend — only to use the moment to launch into a scathing rant against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
According to sources familiar with the call, Trump offered brief condolences before pivoting to complaints about Walz’s leadership. “Your governor was very unfair to me during the 2024 election — a real nasty piece of work,” Trump reportedly said, going on to claim that under Walz, Minneapolis had become “a complete hellhole.”
He further accused the governor of suspicious dealings with China and dishonesty about his military record. “So disgraceful! It really is a shame he’s still in office,” Trump said, according to reports.
Despite the couple’s condition — both were being treated for multiple gunshot wounds — Trump allegedly continued his tirade, saying, “You both have my deepest condolences for all the suffering that moron has caused the great state of Minnesota.”
He reportedly concluded the call by vowing, “I’ll do everything in my power to make sure Walz is next.”
The Hoffmans have not publicly commented
on the call.
