Israeli Hospital Damaged, Dozens Injured in Wave of Iranian Missile Strikes
June 19, 2025 — A barrage of Iranian missile strikes targeting multiple locations in Israel early Thursday left dozens injured and caused significant structural damage to a hospital in the northern city of Haifa, according to Israeli officials.
The Israeli Health Ministry confirmed that at least 34 people were injured in the attacks, with five listed in critical condition. Rambam Health Care Campus, a major medical facility in Haifa, sustained partial damage after a missile struck nearby, shattering windows and disrupting power to several wings. Emergency services rushed to evacuate patients from vulnerable areas, including intensive care and neonatal units.
The Israeli military reported that it intercepted the majority of incoming projectiles, but several still managed to hit civilian infrastructure, particularly in Haifa and the Galilee region. The attacks mark one of the most serious escalations between Iran and Israel in recent years.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for the strikes, stating they were in retaliation for what it called “Zionist aggression” in the region.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened an emergency security cabinet meeting Thursday morning and vowed a “forceful response.” “We will not allow our people or our institutions to be targeted with impunity,” he said in a brief televised address.
International leaders have called for restraint, with the United Nations urging both sides to avoid further escalation.
More updates are expected as the situation develops and damage assessments continue.
