Introducing America's 1,250-horsepower hybrid hypercar, the Corvette ZR1X.
There is never enough. The Corvette ZR1, which was just produced by Chevrolet, is the fastest, fastest, and most outlandish production car ever to have a bowtie on the hood, with 1,064 horsepower.
Its performance crown has already found a new home, but it can keep the neckwear. America's sports vehicle will reach new heights with the new ZR1X, an even more powerful Corvette. With all-wheel drive and 1,250 horsepower, it can reach 60 mph in less than two seconds.
Indeed, it is a hybrid. Here's all you need to know about America's newest hypercar, which I was able to see up close during a recent private debut.
With the ZR1X joining an increasingly crowded array of Corvette models, consumers with a wide range of budgets will find something to lust after. With a starting price of slightly over $70,000 and 490 horsepower, the Stingray remains the base model.
Next on the list of models with the highest price tag is the 2023 hybrid Corvette E-Ray. With the addition of a 160 HP electric motor, the overall power rises to 655 HP. With its quick speed and laid-back demeanor, the E-Ray is positioned as a sort of grand tourer. Additionally, it begins at just over $100,000.
You can then upgrade to the more track-focused, higher-performance Z06 model, which is naturally more expensive. It costs little more than $110,000 at launch and boasts a substantially faster 5.5-liter V8 engine that produces 670 horsepower.
The new ZR1 just joined those, adding turbochargers and several engine upgrades to produce an incredible 1,064 horsepower and a top speed of 233 mph. Additionally outrageous is its asking price, which starts at about $175,000. It is already the priciest Corvette ever, but it is going to grow even more pricey.
A combination of the ZR1 and the hybrid E-Ray is what the ZR1X is. It installs the E-Ray's electrical system inside a ZR1, along with the vehicle's turbocharged V8 and aggressive aerodynamic features. The new 1,250 HP ZR1X is the result of some delicious improvements to the electric drive system and other parts of the vehicle.
