Officials say one victim is receiving treatment in the Troy hospital shooting, but the culprit is still at large.

 



A hospital in Troy is under lockdown Thursday morning after a gunshot occurred there, and the culprit has not yet been apprehended. According to health system officials, the facility is now treating one victim.


The Troy Police Department reported the incident at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital just after 8 a.m. Thursday morning in a department post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, however few information were immediately available.


Police stated in the post that "the suspect is not in arrest, but this appears to be an isolated incident."

The public was advised to stay away from the area by officials.

According to a statement from Corewell Health officials, the hospital is on lockdown out of extreme caution and one victim is receiving care in the emergency room after the gunshot.

The health institution said, "Patients who have booked services should not visit the hospital at this time." Patients can make a direct phone call to the department where they were scheduled for service.  There is currently no additional information available.
According to agency spokespeople and social media posts, the Michigan State Police and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives were among the responding authorities.
