Man in Grand Rapids Arrested for Recruiting a Child for Prostitution

(Bloomington, MN) After being arrested for allegedly recruiting a juvenile for prostitution, a 40-year-old man from Grand Rapids is currently in detention.

Detectives from the Bloomington Police Department spoke with the individual who believed he was speaking to a female 17-year-old. A detective set up a meeting with the man on March 17 at a place close to Bloomington's 8300 block of Normandale Avenue.

Justin David Eichorn, a 40-year-old man from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, was seen pulling up in a pickup truck. Uniformed Bloomington Police officers apprehended Eichorn without any problems outside his car. He will be taken to the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center after being booked into the Bloomington Police Department jail. The Hennepin County Attorney's office is still pursuing felony charges related to soliciting underage individuals to engage in prostitution.

Booker Hodges, the chief of police of Bloomington, stated, "As a 40-year-old male, you should expect that we are going to lock you up if you come to the Orange Jumpsuit District wanting to have sex with someone is underage." "I have always supported harsher punishments for these kinds of crimes. One of the best examples of why we need harsher punishments is the recent case of Michael Gillis, who was arrested in Bloomington. Our state legislature must give this case and this kind of behavior more attention.

The inquiry is ongoing, and more details will be made public as they become available.
